Our Petition

About Us.

Here at Petitions UK we believe in promoting intelligent and well funding research into areas where government based funding maybe tight or where the private sector has no economic interest. Following the lead of the report by the Working Party to the Chief Medical Officer of England in 2002, our priority is to support studies investigating the following:

  • the cause of ME, and how the illness progresses,
  • the effectiveness of potential treatments,
  • the prevalence of ME, and the prognosis for patients,
  • what characterises the different subgroups of ME.

For information the National Animal Welfare Trust, MRCMedical Research Council and the MRC Institute.

THE COALITION FOR MEDICAL PROGRESS

The Coalition for Medical Progress was a broad alliance of organisations that did share the common aim to ensure the UK did continue to lead advances in human and animal medicine. The role of CMP was to help explain the case for medical progress and the benefits brought about by animal research.

Research

We have now written non-technical summaries of all the research projects sponsored by MERGE to date.

Summaries

These should help readers without a medical or scientific background better understand these recent advances.
